SARASOTA — With no debate and minimal discussion, the Sarasota County Commission unanimously adopted a resolution Tuesday banning funding for “any organization that makes referrals to Planned Parenthood or any other organization for abortion services.”
Although the operative language of the resolution is worded broadly, the “whereas” recitals make it clear it was targeted at United Way Suncoast, which operates the 211 social service referral hotline.
